Schuhplatter is a traditional style of folk dance popular in the Alpine regions of Bavaria. In this dance, the performers stomp, clap and strike the soles of their shoes (Schuhe), thighs and knees with their hands held flat (platt). It is the manliest form of male rhythmic performance.
The Regina German Club started a Schuhplattler group in 2015 with the desire to show off the talented men of the club.
If you are interested in joining the group, who meet weekly to practice their performances; or are interested in having the men out to put on a performance, please contact the manager at the club 306-352-5897 or info@reginagermanclub.ca
