We are a group that is dedicated to enjoying the company of good friends, while having great food, always paired with German wines. The society was formed in 1981 by a group of wine drinkers who enjoyed German wines, and has been in existence ever since. We hold monthly functions, 10 times a year. Of those ten, eight are dinner functions, one is a Christmas gathering and one is a BBQ style event in June.
We hold our events at various restaurants, or at facilities catered by a Regina Chef. We invite the Chefs to use their creative skills and come up with a menu just for GWS. We then pair wines from our cellar with the menu items the Chef has chosen. We buy some of our wines locally, and special order others from several wineries in Germany, that are not available in SLGA stores.
Our membership fee is $25 per person per year. There is a per person cost for each function, the price of which varies depending on the location and menu.
